| Life was hard as an orphan on the streets of Morpork, without a nephew or girlfriend to teach you right from wrong. On the other hand, you wouldn't have grown up to be such a talented Thief otherwise. As luck would have it, as you were passing through the land of Schmalbion, you stopped at the inn in the quiet hamlet of Pitlick, and heard the local "seamstress" talking about the ancient dungeon that the town had (perhaps ill-advisedly) been built next to, and the fantastic Ruby Idol of Grunwold that was purported to be hidden there. Without bothering to ask why nobody had managed to recover it already, you set out on your very first quest. You were doing really well until you had to actually go in the dungeon. That was when you fell in a beartrap, got attacked by orphans, and got your eye bitten off by a weretiger. But, unwilling to let that keep you from glory, you gritted your teeth and wielded your bardiche, and cut your way through the hordes of gypsies that stood between you and your goal. At last you found the lair of Terror Witchlord Goldthwait, who quite unexpectedly turned out to be your long-lost son, but you killed the punk anyway. And thus was the land freed from tyranny, and you earned yourself a fat reward!
