At an early age, you were apprenticed to the Great Wizard R. J., but you grew tired of having to sweep the floors and wash the alchemical equipment day in and day out. So, you stole a spellbook and took off to become a Wizard on your own.

You rode into the city of Flansburgh, and met a shadowy stranger in a hooded cloak who was sitting in the corner of the local bar. He told you about the legendary Sapphire Beetle of Hamonrye, which is rumored to be hidden in an ancient ruin near the village of Sto Lat, and promised you a hefty fee if you could bring it to him. Figuring he wouldn't offer you the quest if it weren't level-appropriate, you readily agreed.

You weren't having any problems until you got lost in a dungeon -- all the walls looked exactly the same! You did find a sweet shillelagh +1 in a mimic's lair, though, and were able to intimidate some skeletons into telling you where their boss's hideout was. Right before they stabbed you in the eye.

But, you put on your brave face, and made your way through the caverns and caves to where the Frost King Goldthwait held court over his horde of sexy gangsters, and with uncountable swings of your shillelagh (and a few well-placed attacks of opportunity), you finally slew the horrible yokel and rode back to town to claim your glory (and reward).
